The Coppersmith, Martin the Black – In the Middle Ages, the various metalworking trades were divided from one another, Blacksmiths worked with iron, whitesmiths with tin, and the copper worker was referred to as a red smith. Copper is malleable, and can be easily worked with hammers and snips.
Martin the Black is primarily a blacksmith, using copper to add decorative embellishments. He will be offering projects to “have-a-go” at coppersmithing at the event, for adults and children.
