Chris Harvey has been a quilter for 20 years – initially making quilts for her family before becoming involved in showing quilts.

Chris undertook a Certificate 3 in Patchwork and Quilting through the City & Guild, London UK before studying to become a certified judge with the Quilters Guild of the British Isles.  She has judged internationally on 3 occasions and on many occasions within Australia.  Her quilts have been shown in the USA, UK, NZ and Australia and she has won numerous awards including 3 Best of Shows.

Her quilt, “Black Deaths in Custody, Australia’s Shame” was accepted into the collection of the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.  Other quilts have been purchased for private collections.

Currently, Chris is busy creating new quilts for the 2027 Fair. With one recently completed, another on her quilting frame, a third already underway, she’s also planning a modern quilt to begin once her current projects are finished!

This exhibition includes quilts made early in Chris’s journey, utility quilts and award winning show quilts from traditional to modern. Come along and meet the maker at the event!
